Telemedicine and Application of ICT in Health
Humatrix is the pioneer in telemedicine. We have successfully designed, established and operationalized telemedicine networks in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and North –Eastern States of India.
Humatrix Experts have conducted Operations Research in Madhya Pradesh where a telemedicine network was field-tested and operationalized successfully. This telemedicine model was conceptualized, designed and established in the private sector for the first time in India.
Humatrix Experts also designed a unique village based model of telemedicine as part of a network of Village Information Centres (VIC) in Hoshanagabad of Madhya Pradesh for a Project funded by Canadian international Development Authority (CIDA).
One of the most noteworthy achievements of Humatrix Team is the functional community based telemedicine network for Tsunami affected population in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. Humatrix Team conceptualized, designed, established and operationalized this network. Through this network the Tsunami affected population at the coastal villages got the services of the experts of SCARF in Chennai focused on mental health. Local capacity was built to implement the programme. This model has proved to be sustainable and replicable.
Humatrix Team had developed a training module for training of telecentre managers under the telecentre.org initiative of International Development research Centre (IDRC) supported by Microsoft Corporation and Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). Though this training module is mainly in the context of India, it can easily be adapted to any region or country in the world. This training module along with other related leaning materials constitute a training toolkit for telecentre managers. It has been developed with the participation of potential users and is based on their training needs.
